Issue Encountered in Dialux Evo - Requesting Assistance

Hi,

I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention an issue that I recently encountered while using Dialux Evo, and I kindly request your assistance in resolving it.

While working on a lighting street design project, I encountered a problem related to the software's calculation capabilities. to help you understand my issue i will explained in details what the projetcs about.

i want to design a lighting for streets so instead of using street lighting option, i work with calculation object, the reason why; it's because "street lighting" option let you work on a sample road and in my case i had complicated roads (see photo 1) that requires to design it all properly in way to work on all scenario (crossroads, intersection, Narrow and Wide Ways..).

photo 1:

so i what i did is, drawing my plane using polygonale calculation objects & i draw i polygonal cutout to delete the surfaces that not included.

in results : i want to have +20 lux & +0.25 in uniformity.

i choose my lighting luminaire (150 W), & i run the calculation ( see photos 1,2 to see the results). what happen is the calculation was perfect in the majority of my plane except some roads & surfaces that appear in the calculations diagrams like there is no luminaires at those places THIS IS MY PROBLEM !

photo 2:

photo 3:

i do some research to find any solution to problem, but unfortunatly i didn't find anything. So, i do some test to know what is the reason of my problem.

test 1 : i draw The smallest possible suface near to those areas and guess what the calculcation was good (see photo 4)

photo 4:

test 2 : i draw another surfaces but this time it's a little bigger than the other. i run the calculation same problem those areas appear in the calculation like there is no luminaire on top of them.(see photo 5)

photo 5:

all these tests that i did leads me to some conclusion:

1/ the surfaces of the plan is too big that the software can't handle.

2/ there a limit in the method of calculation object that cannot exceed (Untouchable Space).

3/ there is a tricks that i missed to take in my consideration.

4/ i did something wrong.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I am looking forward to your prompt response and your assistance in resolving this issue. Please let me know if you require any further information or if there are any additional details that may aid in troubleshooting the problem.

Sincerely,

Yassine

Hi Yas, the issue there is that calculations measuring points for these types of calculation surfaces are adjusted autamically thus in most cases it will do in incorrectly.. as you can see below there are more calc points on the top area then the lower one:

you`ll need to adjust the number of points manually by accessing these settings / make sure to set it up 128x128 points and re-calc, this should get you more accurate results:

Hope this helps!
