Hello everyone!
It was brought to my attention that the standard road lighting calculation in DIALux only takes into account the height of the light point. If i use a 6m steel mast i would put the fixture at 6m, however this isnt correct as the light point is infact 6,05 as an example for standard road lighting fixtures. This isnt a massive deviation but when calculating several miles of road it could potentially add up.
However, this is even worse when it comes to park fixtures as theese can be as high as 0.5m tall.
For us this means we have to add the fixture height aswell as roadlighting doesnt take into account the 3D model in the LDT file only the lighting point. Relux has the option to take into account the correct measures of the fixture by using mounting height instead of light point height. However it is important that the fixture LDT has the correct measurement heights according to the actualt fixture.
When working with alot of diffrent fixtures having the correct data from the manufacturer and having to add all theese centimeters is a chore.
Could DIAL look into adding mounting height as an option in the future for roadlighting?
