Do you have any specific recommendations or best practices to optimize IFC import for large models? Should we consider converting to a different file format (e.g., .DWG or .SAT)? Any limitations on IFC file size or object count we should be aware of?
Unable to Import Large IFC File (500 MB) from Revit to DIALux evo
13.1
Windows 11 Pro 64-bit
I'm trying to import a 500 MB IFC file exported from Autodesk Revit to DIALux evo for lighting design purposes. However, DIALux either freezes or crashes during import. The file was exported using IFC 2x3 schema, with most unnecessary categories hidden. Despite using a high-performance PC, the file is apparently too heavy. The goal is to keep architectural spaces and furniture well defined for accurate lighting simulations. This issue occurs every time I try to import this IFC model, even after optimizing export settings in Revit.
