Exporting from DiaLux to AutoCAD as Blocks and Distinguishing Emergency Lighting during Export

Hello,
Until recently, I was experiencing an issue when exporting files in DWG format from the Dialux Evo application, where the blocks were not being exported correctly. I have found a solution to this problem by following these steps:

  • First, before exporting from Dialux, it is essential to take the export in 3D view.

  • Secondly, in the AutoCAD file, we need to disable all group files by entering the "ctrl+shift+A" command. You should see "Group Off" in the command line. This step only needs to be done once.

  • After this, you will notice that the layers are stacked as 4-5 blocks. You can now place your symbols inside any block from the Dialux output symbols, and once you use the "selectsimilar" command and explode it, you will see your symbol applied to all the same type of fixtures.

  • Finally, and most importantly, after this process, you need to use the "Overkill" command to merge all fixtures into a single layer. This is because the layers are stacked, and your one block actually appears as two stacked blocks. We can resolve this by using the "Overkill" command.

Additionally, when exporting in DWG format for emergency lighting scenarios, the emergency lighting fixtures cannot be distinguished. To resolve this, we can quickly fix the issue by selecting the emergency lighting fixtures, replacing them with a different fixture, and exporting them as blocks.
